Who we are
Wedding Photo Collector provides private wedding galleries where couples can collect, review, share, and download guest photos. In this policy, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to Wedding Photo Collector.
We are responsible for personal information used to operate accounts and the service. For wedding content uploaded at a couple's invitation, the couple also decides who is invited, what is collected, and how that content is used.
Information we collect
- Account and security information: name, email address, password hash, verification status, authentication settings, passkeys, and linked Google identity details if you choose Google sign-in.
- Wedding and gallery information: couple names, wedding date, event slug, cover image, package choice, access settings, invite details, and moderation choices.
- Uploaded content: photos, uploader display names, original filenames, file type and size, image dimensions, available capture date metadata, upload status, and gallery likes.
- Payment information: purchase amount, currency, payment status, and Stripe transaction identifiers. Stripe processes card details on its hosted checkout; we do not receive full card numbers.
- Technical and usage information: IP address, browser and device details, request logs, security events, session data, and diagnostic information.
- Communications: email addresses supplied for guest invitations, messages sent to us, and service emails such as verification or storage reminders.
How and why we use information
We use personal information to:
- create accounts, authenticate users, and protect the service;
- create wedding events, accept guest uploads, process images, and provide galleries and downloads;
- process purchases, confirm access, and maintain payment records;
- send invitations and service messages requested by account holders;
- troubleshoot errors, prevent abuse, enforce limits, and improve reliability; and
- meet legal, accounting, security, and dispute-resolution obligations.
Under UK and European data protection law, we rely on performance of our contract, legitimate interests in running and securing the service, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where it is the appropriate basis. Where we rely on consent, it can be withdrawn at any time.
Wedding photos and guest content
Account holders should invite only people they reasonably expect to participate and should explain how their gallery will be used. Guests should upload only content they have the right to share. Photos may contain personal information about guests and other people pictured in them.
Gallery owners can hide or delete photos. If you appear in content and want it reviewed or removed, contact the couple who controls the wedding gallery or contact us with enough information to identify the event and photo.
International transfers
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area. Where data protection law requires it, we use recognised safeguards such as adequacy regulations or approved contractual clauses.
How long we keep information
We keep information only for as long as needed for the purposes described above. Account and event records are normally kept while the account is active. Wedding photo storage follows the retention period attached to the selected package and any extension, after which stored image files are scheduled for deletion.
Payment, security, audit, and legal records may be kept longer where required. Backups and logs may retain limited copies for a short additional period before they are overwritten or deleted.
Your rights
Depending on where you live and the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our use of personal information, and to receive a portable copy. You may also withdraw consent and complain to your local data protection authority.
In the United Kingdom, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Security
We use technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information, including access controls, private file storage, encrypted connections, signed temporary file links, password hashing, and restricted event-access cookies. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Children
The service is not intended for children to create and manage accounts. Wedding photos may include children when a guest uploads them to a couple's gallery. A parent, guardian, or person with a concern about such content can contact the gallery owner or us to request a review.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. We will revise the date at the top and provide additional notice when a change materially affects how we use personal information.
